The village of Silandro is situated right in the middle between the Resia Pass and the city of Merano . Much nature will fascinate you on the mountain slopes due to a juxtaposition of contrasts: dark forests and lush meadows on the so-called Nördersberg mountain (partly situated in the Stilfserjoch National Park); opposite majestically the so-called sun mountain with its vineyards and chestnut groves near Silandro and its dry and barren side slopes near Lasa with many types of plants and animals typical for the Mediterranean region. Silandro, the principal village of the Vinschgau Valley , conveys an urban flair thanks to its nicely created pedestrian area. Lasa enchants with its „white gold“. The world-famous white marble is mined in the mountains above Lasa.
