Schlanders and the entire Vinschgau are like a huge museum full of attractions. Throughout the valley, you'll encounter numerous castles, fortresses, and monasteries from the Middle Ages waiting to be discovered. One of the most famous is undoubtedly Juval Castle, home to the legendary mountaineer Reinhold Messner. But Churburg and Glurns, the smallest town in Italy, are also well worth a visit.

A Vinschgau Full of Events

Vinschgau is especially known for its apricots – or "Marillen" as they are called here. These sweet fruits are so famous that they, along with the renowned Laaser marble, are celebrated at an event. Hosts and businesses invite you to taste apricots and view marble at over 30 stands. You also shouldn't miss the Krampus parades in Vinschgau and the Christmas markets during Advent.
